Purpose of the Congress:

Ensuring health and sustainable employability through academic training, legislative changes based on scientific evidence and the activities on chronic and occupational diseases prevention, for health promotion, innovative practices and prevention of the youngest and older workers, for helping people on light duty and disabled people responding to the challenges of the changing workforce as well as its social protection and security.

Ten years of existence of the Occupational Health Department

at the Faculty of Public Health, Medical University – Sofia

The Occupational Health Department was established in 2008 by Decision № 45 of 1 October 2008 of the Faculty Board of the Public Health Department and approved at a meeting dated 21 October 2008 of the Academic Council of the Medical University, Sofia.

The Occupational Health Department is the first and for the time being the only one in the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as the first in the history of the higher medical education in our country. The foundation of the Occupational Health Department is based on the creative idea of ​​the first Faculty of Public Health, Sofia developed 20 years ago as a unity of theory and practice for public health and employability protection, promotion and restoration through targeted health and education policy and successful management.

The members of the Department are the founders of the Bulgarian Academic Society of Occupational Medicine, individual members of the International Commission of Occupational Health – ICOH and of the Union of the Bulgarian Medical Professionals.

Requirements for the summary/report, poster/, in Bulgarian and in English are as follows:

Formatting requirements (download)

The summary should not exceed 400 words.It should be structured in the following way:

  • Title;
  • Authors (first name, surname and institution);
  • Keywords (maximum five keywords)
  • Introduction;
  • Purpose;
  • Methodology, methods;
  • Results and discussion;
  • Conclusion.

There are a limited number of places available for the Congress (Registration).

Important! The deadline for submission of abstracts and registration for participation is extended to August 30, 2018

Authors, who want their reports to be published in the journal “Occupational health and Work Ability” should submit them as an article on the requirements of the journal (requirements for authors).

Deadline for acceptance of articles – September 20, 2018 (submit article).
